trial

you know when you open fashion magazines or read blogs and you see things you want and cant afford your heart drops a bit. so you try your best to get these expensive looks for less; be it by making them
yourself, rummaging in charity shops or even, dare i say, go to primark. we try our best to dress how we  desire to be perceived. i have days when i want to look polished, i have days when i want to look like beggar, some days nothing is more comfortable then being naked without the stress of what to wear. however im not sure that too many people want to see me naked so for the days when i want to be dressed i attempt to replicate looks that i love with what i have in my wardrobe. here are my attempts:

BURBERRY

shirt: h&m
jeans: primark
trench: burbbery
bag: pierre balmain
shoes: charity shop

now i know some of the things listed above sound expensive, but you'd be surprised what some people dontate to charity. the i got the Burberry trench for £5 and the Balmain bag for £0.50...yup thats right.. so i would advise you to go to cahrity shops that aren't really known and far away from the city..

JIL SANDER

i've had this hot pink and red fabric for a while. initially i wanted to make a reverse kimono for the summer with these to colours, then it turned into perhaps making a pair of shorts ( i need some more colour in my wardrobe) but now im thinking using the structured Jill Sander look, i might make a pleated t-shirt..thoughts?

MARC JACOBS

top:  Monki
shorts: Levis
shoes: Vagabond

t-shirt: h&m
jeans: primark
vest: old leather jacket i cut up
bag: charity shop
shoes : Vagabond

Marc Jacobs has done it so simple for us to emulate. i would mix hard and soft fabrics, (leather and jersey) or tailored with baggy (fitted shorts with loose fitting tops) this is my favourite thing to do.

  MARNI

MSGM

shirt: h&m
t-shirt: Monki
trousers: charity shop

for both MARNI and MSGM its all about two things. 1, earth tones, and 2 layer the bitch. once again as seen in MARC JACOBS too, its that tailored look with softer fabrics that make the look more easy going and laid back. and yes, i think its about time we brought man cluthes....

RICK OWENS

top: Morrissey 91 concert t shirt
trousers: topshop/kate moss
shoes: Vagabond

the king of edginess would be RICK OWEN. what i interrupt from this season was feminising a typically masculine look, which i love to do. he does this by creating draped and a-symmetrical tops . what i could make out of my wardrobe was this: my partners very old morrissey t-shirt (keep shirts that you love, no matter how old), fitted sequins jeans to fem it up a bit and finally, the icing on the cake, a pair of platforms.

VERSACE

shirt: zara
sweater: vintage
jeans: primark
shoes: vintage
jacket:  found it
vest:  topman
jeans: primark
shoes: Vagabond

versace, versace, versace, what can i say.. the days when you want to look like a million bucks, and yes a lot of guys have these days. i would say a mans Little Black Dress would be a fitted jacket. with a fitted jacket you can literally wear anything as grimy as you can and the jacket will still make it look like you've walked off the runway. again its that mix of tailoring and loose which creates comfortable and strong look

PRADA

and finally my own personal take on extra summering up this PRADA look. i thought after all the earth, dark, tones (JIL SANDER aside) i needed to finish this post with a little more hope, and plus i really wanted to get this t-shirt in there. its all about patterns and vibrant colours..

all these looks do not cost a fortune to obtain. patience and stamina is key... i wouldnt recommend to copy these outfits look for look, i just did it as an experiment in my wardrobe. remember fashion is individual so wear what you feel comfortable in not what is on trend..and you'll be surprised what you can find in charity shops. so if your thinking about getting rid of some clothes, GIVE IT TO CHARITY so people like me can find them and enjoy them! think of it as karma, you give, you receive. but before you give, let me know where you'll drop them off so that i can have first pick.

......and.................

AND WHY OH WHY BEAT UP PHILIP SALON??????!!?!?!?

Philip Sallon, 59, a flamboyant figure on the West End club scene, is recovering in hospital after the assault nearPiccadilly Circus in the early hours of Saturday.
Mr Sallon, from St John's Wood, who founded the Mud Club in TottenhamCourt Road in the Eighties, was stamped on and kicked in the head and suffered broken bones in his face.
George, who wrote the music and lyrics to the West End hit Taboo in 2002 which featured Mr Sallon as himself, appealed for witnesses to come forward.
The 49-year-old singer also urged the person who called an ambulance to report his friend's injuries to contact the police.
George told the Standard: "I am very upset. He is my oldest and closest friend. He is not the sort of person I can imagine anyone wanting to beat up. It would be a total waste of time. He is a colourful character but certainly not aggressive.

"He is not someone who would have got into a fight. He is a bit like me and just goes out on his own.
"There must have been people there, it is a really public area. There are always lots of people coming in from clubs. Whoever called the ambulance wasn't around to give any evidence.
"The police are dealing with it but apparently there is no CCTV footage. Someone must have seen it, it was a brutal assault."
The singer said Mr Sallon is expected to make a full recovery but cannot remember the attack.
George took to Twitter last night to tell of his shock at the attack at about 3am near the Trocadero. Actor James Cordon was among Twitter users to condemn the attack. He wrote: "Oh my god. Is he ok? How horrific. He's such a lovely man x."
upseting news. one if my favourite artists Ai Weiwei has been held in custody by the chinese police for supposedly being a mavrick and not following chinese law...oh please forgive give him for spitting on your ludicrously clean ground.this really frustrates me. He is own of the best artists of the time and due to where he is from, he has been detained for voicing his opinion, politically and through art! Isn't that what people are meant to do anyway? Anyway...here is more info on the story.

"Chinese state media have offered the first response to the international outcry over the detention of Ai Weiwei, with a newspaper commentary saying his actions are "ambiguous in law" and attacking the west for criticising China over human rights.
Internet users supporting the missing artist and social critic have fought back against censorship of the topic with typical ingenuity, posting online thinly veiled references to the missing 53-year-old.
Ai was detained by officials at Beijing airport on Sunday morning and has not been heard from since. His friend Wen Tao, 38, is also missing after his reported detention on the same day.
Beijing police have not notified Ai's family of detention nor replied to faxed queries about both men.
Wednesday's commentary, which ran in the popular nationalist tabloid the Global Times and its more muted English edition, does not say that Ai is detained. But it observes: "As a maverick of Chinese society, [Ai] likes 'surprising speech' and 'surprising behaviour'. He also likes to do something ambiguous in law. On 1 April, he went to Taiwan via Hong Kong. But it was reported his departure procedures were incomplete."
Ai's assistant, who was travelling with him, said she last saw him as they passed through immigration controls.
The article accused critics of "exaggerat[ing] a specific case in China and attack[ing] China with fierce comments before finding out the truth". It said the west had sought to change the country's value system and had "ignored the complexity of China's running judicial environment and the characteristics of Ai Weiwei's individual behaviour. They simply described it as China's 'human rights suppression'."
It added: "Ai Weiwei chooses to have a different attitude from ordinary people toward law. However, the law will not concede before 'mavericks' just because of the western media's criticism."
The Chinese version included several lines missing from the English translation, including a reference to Ai as "stubborn and unruly", a remark that "the Ai Weiwei being taken away case will soon be clear" and the observation: "That's the root cause of Chinese people loathing the west; when the west tries to impose pressure on China using human rights excuses."
The piece follows a growing international outcry over the artist's disappearance, with the US, Britain and the EU criticising China's growing crackdown on dissidents and activists.
According to the Chinese Human Rights Defenders network, a dozen people are missing, including several high-profile rights lawyers – three arrested for incitement to subversion; one sent to labour camp; and 26 criminally detained, although five of those have been released on bail.
On the popular Sina microblog, the domestic equivalent of Twitter, censors deleted many messages about Ai, and a search for his name triggers a warning that results are not shown because of local regulations. But some used the words "ai weilai" or "love the future" – which looks and sounds similar to his name – to call for his return.
"Sometimes, it is not easy to love the future," wrote one. Another said: "I really don't dare believe that in this society, even love for the future can disappear." Others posted messages saying they were looking for "a fat guy called Ai"– a reference to the artist's impressive girth.
On Twitter, which is blocked in China but which can be accessed through proxies or virtual private networks, some users changed their profile picture to a photograph of Ai."
